Elevating the Experts
You are an electrical professional. You have the knowledge
and experience customers depend on. And the expertise to move product. Get the
designation that proves it.
The CEP program sets the bar for electrical distribution by
assessing the skills required by professionals in today’s industry. Designation
validates the knowledge and credibility of the holder and encourages others to
strive for it as well.
Do You Know a CEP?
CEP isn't just for the individual. By recognizing the people who meet its rigorous standards, the program elevates the industry,
helping the public and employers identify quality service providers within the
electrical distribution channel.
Find out how the CEP certification has given these distributors a competitive edge.
Set Yourself Apart from the Competition
In
today's tough economy, the CEP Certification is the perfect way for you
to gain credibility and set yourself apart from the competition. The
CEP offers the following benefits:
- Feeling of importance within your company through your new CEP
designation, as well as the recognition of accomplishment by superiors
- Personal accomplishment builds commitment to your career
- Better understanding of your role and how it relates to the customer
- Career enhancement and advancement opportunities with the satisfaction of a clearer, broader career path
Give Your Company a Boost
Companies that invest in the employees by helping them achieve their CEP designation often experience many added benefits:
- Increased employee satisfaction builds retention and establishes a structured program for future goal setting
- Improved operations and service results in improved profitability
- Competitive advantage for your company by providing competent employees that interface with customers on a daily basis
Setting the Industry’s
Standards
The CEP program grew from a need to recognize the accomplishments and skills of electrical distribution’s most excelling sales
associates.
With support from the NAED Education & Research Foundation,
NAED established the CEP program as an independent body that sets and
enforces the industry’s professional standards. Since its first exam in
2009, CEP has certified 618 individuals from 86
companies nationwide – and it continues to grow.
Unlike certificate programs that teach people how to become sales
professionals, the CEP program tests candidates on understanding and
skills that can only be gained through real life. Designation
demonstrates the holder’s mastery of product knowledge, customer
service, sales skills and other competency areas.

Avoid the Trial and Error
In today’s diverse, global marketplace, contractors have
options for choosing a supply partner. But with those options come more risks. Lengthy trial and error can help you determine whether your
supplier has the knowledge to recommend the right products, so why gamble when
it comes to potential counterfeit or damaged products?
Now there’s an industry standard available to help you verify
whether the person you’re buying from is qualified. It’s called CEP, and in
just three letters, it lets you know you’re working with a Certified Electric
Professional.
Is your supplier on the CEP list?
Hear why this contractor looks for CEPs when deciding which electrical distributor to do business with.
Inside and outside sales professionals holding the elite CEP
designation have met stringent criteria and demonstrated through an exam that
they have expertise to be an effective solutions provider. And they’re required to keep proving it
with recertification every three years. That means CEPs are continuously
developing their skills and staying current on the latest products. Download the CEP brochure to find out more about why you should choose a CEP supplier.
