NAED Certification Requirements
In order for NAED to approve your training for CEUs, the activity must meet these general guidelines:

  • The learning activity must address identified needs of your intended audience.
  • The learning activity must include clear and concise objectives that define the expected and measurable learning outcomes (e.g., behavioral or performance objectives).
  • Qualified personnel and subject matter experts must be involved in the planning, development, and delivery of the learning activity.
  • The content and instructional methods used in the learning activity are appropriate for the stated learning outcomes.
  • The learning activity must include a means to assess how well the learner has achieved the learning outcomes. (e.g., a quiz or final exam).
  • The learning activity must have a means of capturing learner feedback. (The NAED Learning Center can provide this type of evaluation if it is not included in the activity.)

NAED Certification Process
Qualified NAED staff must review the training activity to determine its eligibility. To request a review of learning activities and receive a price quote, email John Kiso, NAED’s Education Program Manager, at jkiso@naed.org. Please attach the Certification Application Form. On this form, provide the following information for each activity you would like NAED to review:

  • Activity name
  • Type of activity (online, instructor-led, webinar, blended, etc.)
  • List of individuals and their job titles who were involved in the design, development, and delivery of the training activity
  • Brief description of the activity
  • Description of the target audience
  • Learning objectives
  • Any required prerequisites
  • Length in hours/minutes

Once the Application Form is received, NAED staff will contact you to coordinate the transfer of the activity materials for review.

Continuing Education Unit
Once your activity has been reviewed and approved, NAED will assign it the appropriate credit value based on this formula: 1 credit hour of learner interaction = .1 CEU

CEU LogoWe will also provide you with this logo which you can use to promote the learning activity.

If the learning activity is delivered on the NAED Learning Center, any industry learner who successfully completes the activity will earn the appropriate amount of CEU credit which is tracked automatically on his/her transcript.

This credit can apply to any program that recognizes IACET accreditation, including NAED’s Certified Electrical Professional (CEP) and the Certified Sales Professional (CSP) program.

If the activity does not initially meet the requirements, NAED staff will provide a list of changes that are required in order for the course to be eligible.

Maintaining Accreditation
To maintain an activity’s accreditation, it must be reviewed every 2 years by NAED staff and appropriate subject matter experts to ensure its accuracy, relevance and adherence to the instructional requirements defined above. This review will determine whether revisions to the learning activity are required.
