NAED has
selected ecoInsight to deliver a comprehensive audit software for members.
NAED’s Energy Audit Solution powered by ecoInsight will enable distributors to
audit a customer’s energy usage; demonstrate the energy and cost savings of
installing energy efficient equipment; and provide project-wide financial
analysis including payback, return on investment, and cost of waiting.
The goals of
the audit software initiative are to:
- Provide
customers with a comprehensive proposal to reduce energy consumption
- Increase
distributor sales of energy-efficient products
- Provide
a user-friendly, accurate audit tool and presentation package
- Reduce
labor costs (estimated to reduce the time necessary to conduct an audit by
20-30%)
- Improve
solution response time to the customer
- Position
NAED distributors as energy services providers that offer quality,
trustworthy products
- Gain
a competitive advantage for NAED’s member companies
NAED’s
Energy Audit Solution powered by ecoInsight will simplify the audit process by
allowing a user to electronically record information or utilize standardized
data collection forms while walking through a building. Once complete, the user
can model lighting and electrical system upgrade scenarios to determine how
recommended changes alter the building’s energy performance and operational
costs. The scenarios incorporate the distributor’s product recommendations
derived from its various vendor partner product catalogs. Once the analysis is
complete, the distributor generates a professional proposal with clear
documentation, graphs and charts that effectively demonstrate the projected
return on investment, as well as the cost of waiting or choosing do nothing.
NAED's Energy Audit Software will include the following product groupings in a phased roll-out:
- Phase 1: Lamps, Fixtures, & Basic Lighting Controls (scheduled for release fourth quarter 2010)
- Phase 2: Motors, Drives, Advanced Lighting Controls, and Metering
- Phase 3: Building Controls, Capacitor Systems, HVAC, and Load Shedding
- Future Consideration: Renewable Energy Systems (Solar & Wind)
