In today's increasingly competitive electrical distribution channel and the parallel compensation culture arising out of the litigious business climate, distributors face legal exposure.  NAED has two studies available that provide recommendations on how to minimize risk both for product sales and providing value-added services.

Terms & Conditions: Reading the Fine Print - How to Protect Your Company from Potential Liability and Litigation: Provides companies with the tools to develop and examine the “fine print” of agreements, contracts, and purchase orders to better protect themselves, and to understand the consequences of what they agree to do. (Published in 2012)

Theft and Fraud in the Electrical Distribution Industry: Investigates the scope of theft and fraud in the electrical distribution industry, and provides suggestions to deter and respond to such acts from both internal and external sources. (Published in 2010)

Product Liability Exposure: Mitigating and Managing the Risks in Today's Global Market: Provides in-depth recommendations relative to the risks distributors face and actions they need to take to limit their product liability exposure. (Published in 2008)

Service Liability Exposure: Navigating the Legal Risks and Protections: Examines service liability scenarios, the most common value added services distributors provide, and the top four liability mitigation recommendations.(Published in 2008)

Research projects are generously funded by the NAED Education and Research Foundation's Channel Advantage Partnership.
