Various structures for participation by DBEs and non-DBE suppliers in those public procurement projects have been utilized, and some of those structures are now facing increased scrutiny from all levels of government. Many of the government's legal actions relating to improper DBE transactions have occurred in the Northeast, and it is probable that those government actions will increase across the nation. Electrical distributors could face increased scrutiny when they directly or indirectly participate in transactions involving DBEs.
