Selling Services Benchmark Report

This biennial survey was designed to create a benchmark of the value added services that electrical distributors are currently offering their customers.

The findings illustrate the significant number of services electrical distributors offer and the value they provide to their customers. These important benchmarks help individual electrical distributors evaluate where they are today and develop a possible road-map in offering new services in the future. Featured breakouts now include company size and customer segments.

Over 140 NAED members participated in the 2018 survey and gave insights in regards to their services, pricing structure, and where they plan to go in the future.

A few notables include:

  • The top three services distributors provide at no additional charge: Job site delivery, early A.M. delivery, credit and collection services
  • Top three services distributors request a set fee: Pulling heads, Drives start-up, Motor repair services
  • Commercial electrical contractors request services more than other customer types.
