CONFERENCE INFORMATION

Overview
NAED's Women in Industry Forum provides an environment for female professionals within electrical distribution to take steps toward advancing their careers by leveraging educational opportunities.
Who Should Attend
This conference is ideal for all females, from entry level to upper management, in the electrical industry. The Forum provides education opportunities for attendees allowing them to connect with senior leadership within industry-leading companies.

WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR?

This year Women in Industry will be co-located with the Adventure Conference, giving people the chance to attend both conferences back-to-back. The opening event for Adventure will overlap with the closing event for the Forum, giving both groups a chance to network together.

Members who register for BOTH events at the same time will receive a discount of $100. To get this discount, please only sign up using the Women In Industry registration. Further details are below, under "Pricing".

Description: Join Shawna Gersack for some Power Yoga to challenge your balance, flow with strength, and get energized! This class is for intermediate to advanced yogis who know the basic positions and want to get a workout in while focusing on balance & breathing. Modifications will be offered for your level of practice as we flow and stretch together! Shawna has been with Signify (previously Philips Lighting) for 20 years. Outside of her lighting career, her passion has been teaching yoga for 10+ years and has practiced in Indonesia, Italy, and Mexico, and currently teaches Power Yoga every Sunday in her hometown of Jackson Hole, WY.

Arriving Early on Monday and looking to explore Salt Lake City? Sign up for a private guided tour with your colleagues. Cost for the tour is $45.00 per person.

Your motorcoach and guide will arrive at the Hyatt at 1:00pm to begin your tour. You’ll visit and learn all about Tabernacle Square, Utah’s most visited attraction. See the stunning Tabernacle built in 1867 and home to the famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Next, visit Capitol Hill – considered the second-most beautiful capitol in America and enjoy scenic views of the Rocky Mountains. Head to Pioneer-Heritage State Park for another beautiful scenic overlook of the Great Salt Lake, the Pony Express Monument, and This is The Place Monument. Other stops may include the Union Pacific Depot, the Governor’s Mansion, and Trolley Square. Finish your tour at the Olympic Village and Stadium before heading back to your hotel around 4:00 pm.

  • The group rate is $234 per night plus 14.82% state and local taxes.
  • The link to book your room will be in the "Thank you for registering" confirmation email.
  • The cut-off for hotel reservations is May 22. However, rooms may run out prior to this date.

GETTING THERE

  • The hotel is approximately 7 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).
  • A taxi will run approximately $25.
  • Driving directions from Salt Lake City International: (7 miles/13 min.): Take I-80 East toward downtown Salt Lake. Exit 121, stay right and follow signs to 600 South. Continue on 600 South, then turn left on 300 West. Finally, turn right on 200 South. Hotel is on the corner of 200 South and West Temple.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Cancelations received by NAED 7 days prior to the conference will be charged a processing fee of $100 per registrant canceled. To cancel, registrants (or their delegates) would select “My registrations” from their profile page, select the event and person they wish to cancel, and select “Cancel”.
  • Substitutions received in writing will be accepted at any time at events@naed.org.
  • NO SHOWS (registrants who do not attend the conference and have not canceled 7 days prior to the conference) WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND.

HOUSING CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • You must cancel 72 hours before arrival to avoid a penalty equal to one night's room and tax.
