Version 2.0 now includes online workbook assignments that will be completed and reviewed within the NAED Learning Center, eliminating the need for PDF workbooks and Dropbox or email file transfer.

EPEC Bronze provides beginning sales skills and product knowledge for over 200 products Distributors work with every day. The program will guide you through an introduction to electrical products and the EPEC triangle, residential electrical systems, light industry environments and commercial and outdoor products. You’ll learn to increase sales by acquiring a greater understanding of products, their application and the relationship between products in an electrical system.

Begin Your Journey into Electrical Products!

EPEC Bronze offers built-in flexibility to alternate between reviewing the 4 content modules online, in PDF format or in the printed books all for one price. Included in the program are electronic blueprints and workbooks that include activities such as specifying products for a project based upon the prints and specifications provided. Upon completion of the 4 content modules, students must pass the final exam before moving on to the capstone project.

EPEC BRONZE: INTRODUCTION

This course introduction module explains the processes, training materials and other resources you will need to successfully complete EPEC.

MODULE 1: INTRO TO ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS

In this module you will gain knowledge of a broad range of electrical products and how they interrelate in electrical systems. You will also identify all the considerations—in addition to a product’s price—that play a part in the product selection process. You will complete exercises to practice analyzing sample plans and specifications to look for selling opportunities.

MODULE 2: RESIDENTIAL

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to: recognize common considerations for selection of electrical products used in residential environments; practice using the EPEC Triangle and the National Electrical Code or Canadian Electrical Code introduced in Module 1 to analyze product choices for commercial and residential systems; recognize ways that individual electrical products work together as a system in a residential environment; and create product submittals for a specific residential scenario.

MODULE 3: LIGHT INDUSTRIAL

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to: consider lighting, distribution, and installation needs that impact industrial and commercial applications; use the EPEC Triangle to analyze industrial electrical systems; and identify the multiple electrical products required to adequately supply an industrial job site.

MODULE 4: COMMERCIAL AND OUTDOOR

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to: identify what impacts appropriate product selection for industrial and commercial environments; use the EPEC Triangle to analyze industrial and commercial electrical systems; and make appropriate product selections for given industrial and commercial applications.

FINAL EXAM

Students must score a 75% or higher to demonstrate a solid understanding of the concepts taught throughout the program and move on to the Capstone project.

CAPSTONE: SEVEN-TENANT STRIP MALL

This final assignment brings your learning to a focal point, as you apply your ability to use specs and drawings to select and recommend products for a strip mall with seven tenants.
