State of the Industry Report


The results of the State of the Industry’s Pulse Survey reveal NAED members continue to manage significant issues that impact how they conduct business:

  • While most members expect the economy to grow, 94% of distributor participants and 78% of manufacturers are experiencing supply chain issues.
  • Ninety-eight percent of participating companies plan to increase product prices in 2021.
  • As of April 2021, 52% of respondents are extremely or very confident that their companies will experience growth this year.

The State of the Industry Survey is conducted every year to provide NAED members with an overview of economic expectations, anticipated growth, and perceived industry drivers by C-suite leaders in the electrical distribution industry. Responses from distributors and manufacturers also point to the industry’s key priorities and challenges as companies continue to face unprecedented changes and opportunities.
